Summary
Necrotizing fasciitis (FN) is a rare but potentially lethal skin infection, categorized as the most severe soft tissue infection due to rapid tissue destruction. The cervicofacial presentation is exceptionally rare. We present the case of a 69-year-old patient with a morbid history of uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, arthrosis and chronic alcohol consumption, admitted in the Emergency Department of the Dr. Franco Ravera Zunino Hospital with Inflammatory Syndrome of Systemic Response by skin wound of the inferior right eyelid with several days of evolution and diagnosis of facial necrotizing fasciitis involving palpebral and right genian region. Treatment consisted of thorough debridement under general anesthesia, broad spectrum antibiotic therapy and finally reconstruction with cervicofacial flap rotation and epidermal graft.
